India beat Nepal 4-1 in SAFF Championship, enter semis along with Sri Lanka

KATHMANDU: India scored four goals, three in the second half, to defeat Nepal 4-1 in their Group A match of the SAFF Championship at Trivandrum Stadium on Sunday.

With today's results, India entered the semi-finals as the group topper along with Sri Lanka.

India's Chhangte scored two goals at 81st and 89th minutes, and captain Sunil Chhetri one at 67th to help his team take a lead at 67th minute.

 

- Bishal Rai has been replaced by Yogesh Gurung at 57th minute.

- Nepal and India have made changes for the second half.

Jagajeet Shrestha replaced Bimal Gharti Magar, who scored for Nepal, in the second half, while India sent Chhangte in Sanju Pradhan's substitution.

KATHMANDU: Both Nepal and India have scored one goal each in the first half of their Group A match in the ongoing SAFF Championship at Trivandrum Stadium.

Nepal's Bimal Gharti Magar scored at the 3rd minute of the game to put Nepal in front. India's Rowllin Borges, however, levelled the score at 23 minutes later.

As Nepal lost 1-0 against Sri Lanka in the Group A opener on Wednesday, while India defeated Sri Lanka 2-0 on Friday, Nepal have can make it to the the semi-finals if they won tonight.
