KATHMANDU: Sailesh Sanghai took the lead after the first day of the Master Selection Golf Tournament here at the Royal Nepal Golf Club on Friday.

The 14-hndicap amateur golfer scored 39 points to stay at the top of the leaderboard. He earned 19 points on the front nine before adding 20 on the latter half. Gopal Chitrakar is second with 37 points, while Maj Gen GB Limbu, Babu Sherpa and Raj Pradhan are third with 33 points.

A total of 22 players completed their rounds, while other 60 golfers will compete on Saturday.

The tournament, which is being played under stableford full handicap format, is organised by Vijay Distillery Pvt Ltd to mark the centenary celebration of RNGC.
