KATHMANDU: Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya and Triyog School registered victories in the MIS Inter-school Cricket Tournament here on Monday.

SAM defeated St Xavier’s by 85 runs. Batting first, SAM scored 145-6 in 20 overs, while St Xavier’s were packed for 60 runs in 14.2 overs.

Pujan Phuyal top scored for SAM with 26 runs and Aashish Kunwar contributed 24. Sandesh Adhikari then wrecked havoc with five-wicket haul to pack St Xavier cheaply. In another match, Triyog beat Kendriya Vidhyalaya by 128 runs. Triyog posted 250-7 riding on half centuries from Abhiyan Bhandari (75) and Avnisk Khatri (59).

Hardik Lamichhane of Kendriya took three wickets. In reply, Kendriya were never in contention after the batsmen faltered from the beginning.

Avnish Khatri of Triyog took three wickets, while Abhinay Khadka grabbed two.
