Kathmandu, May 13:

Samraj Gurung of Hotel Moon Light defeated Nabin Sharma of Nabil Bank 26-43, 70-17 and his brother Yuvraj Gurung of 3R Brick Industry lost 43-24, 37-53 to Pragyat Rana of J&T Associates in the inaugural-day matches of the first Corporate Snooker Tournament, which has been organised by Annapurna Post in association with Hotel Shahanshah.

In other matches, Ummed Shrestha, Laxman Charan Joshi, Deependra Rawal, Uday Manandhar, Jangbu Sherpa, Bishow Pradhan, Suraj Shah, and Mangal Dangol advanced to the second round.

In all, participants from 24 corporate houses are taking part in the eight-day tournament. Earlier, managing director of Krishi Premura Rakesh Adukia inaugurated the event.
