Sankata Club defeated Jhapa-XI 3-1 in tie breaker to enter the semi-finals of the Tuborg Bikash Running Shield International Invitational Football Tournament here at the Campachaur today.

The winner was decided on penalties after both the teams were tied at 2-2 in the regulation 90 minutes. Nirajan Khadka, Asim Jung Karki and Bishwo Adhikari scored for Sankata, while Om Bikram Ghale was the lone player from Jhapa to convert the penalty.

Earlier, Victor put Sankata ahead in the 31st minute and Karki doubled the tally a minute later.

However, Jhapa bounced back to net two goals in the second

half with Sanu Kaji Limbu scoring twice to push the game to the tie breaker.

Limbu found the net in the 55th minute to cut the deficit and added another in the 67th minute to make it 2-2.

Sankata’s Karki won man-of-the-match award and earned Rs 10,000.
