Sankata Club stunned Manang Marshyangdi Club 2-1 to enter the final of the 12th Tuborg Bikash Running Shield International Invitational Football Tournament here at the Campachaur grounds today.

Nirajan Khadka and Ashim Jung Karki scored a goal each for Sankata, while Afeez Olawale replied for MMC. Sanakata will play against Tribhuvan Army Club in the final slated for Sunday at the same venue.

Sankata took lead after Khadka netted in the 31st minute to go into the break with a 1-0 lead. MMC’s relentless pressure paid off in the 78th minute when Olawale levelled the scores in the 78th minute.

At a time when the match was heading towards additional time, Karki sealed the victory for Sankata in the injury time to confirm the final date with TAC, who defeated Morang FC 2-0 in Thursday’s semi-finals.

Karki was declared the man-of-the-match and received Rs 10,000. The winners and runners-up will earn Rs 300,000 and Rs 150,000 respectively.
