LALITPUR: Satdobato Youth Club advanced to the final of the KP Oli Cup National Football Championship here on Monday. Satdobato defeated fellow 'A' division outfit Tribhuvan Army Football Club in sudden death in the first semi-final match.
The match, which was postponed due to heavy rain after goalless first half on Sunday, was decided on penalties after both teams failed to score in the second half played on Monday. Satdobato goalkeeper Abhishek Baral, who stopped Sudil Rai's attempt to seal the victory, was named the player of the match and he received Rs 15,000.
Satdobato will face Machhindra Football Club, who beat KP Oli Football Club 1-0 in another semi-final match. Bimal Gharti Magar scored the solitary goal of the match in the 19th minute following a pass from Rajin Dhimal. The final is slated for Wednesday. Top two teams will earn one million rupees and Rs 500,000 respectively.
