Saudi Arabia pull out

Kathmandu, January 29:

Asian Cricket Council (ACC) today rescheduled the ACC U-17 Elite Cup slated here for February 4-12 after Saudi Arabia pulled out of the tournament.

Only eight teams will now vie for the championship to be held for the last time as the ACC has already scrapped the event. The new fixtures pits the same teams as drawn in the previous schedules with only minor changes in the dates and venues.

Nepal are drawn in Group ‘A’ along with Singapore, Qatar and Hong Kong while Group ‘B’ comprises of Bahrain, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates and Malaysia.

Hosts Nepal will open their campaign with a match against Qatar on February 4 at the Pulchowk Engineering College grounds before taking on Hong Kong at the Army School grounds in Bhaktapur on February 7.

Nepal will play their last league round match against Singapore the next day at the Tribhuvan University Stadium. The semi-final are on February 10. The final is rescheduled for February 12, one day earlier than the previously drawn fixtures.
