Shakti hits another ton
Kathmandu, August 28:
Shakti Prasad Gauchan, the vice captain of Nepali national cricket team, scored another century for Sileby Cricket Club in their Sunday League match against Belovir Cricket Club. Batting first, the left-handed batsman made 118 not out in his team’s total of 213 in a 40-over match, said the player in an e-mail sent to The Himalayan Times. This was Shakti’s third hundred in England. He scored the first century for Sileby, while the second came for Woorli Cricket Club of India, with whom Shakti had gone to London. Last week, Shakti played three matches for Woorli.
The first match against Kibworth Cricket Club was washed out due to rain. In his second match against Conteshe Thorpe Cricket Club, Shakti scored a ton and guided his team to a five-wicket victory. Chasing 191 to win, Shakti played an important role in his team’s victory scoring 100 runs with two overs remaining. With three runs needed to win, Shakti hit the boundary, which take him to the three figures. In the third two-day match against Overstone Park Cricket Club, Shakti scored 55 runs and took 6-25 off 17 overs in his team’s 43-run win.
