Sharma takes charge on Day II

Kathmandu, December 19:

Pashupati Sharma carded two over 69 for the second day lead at the CMS All Nepal Open Golf Tournament here at the Royal Nepal Golf Club (RNGC) today.

Ramesh Nagarkoti is two shots behind Sharma with the ovarall 138. Nagarkoti, who carded three over 70 on the first day, improved to one over 68 today. Deepak Thapa and Deepak Neupane are tied for the third with the total of 141. Thapa carded three over 70 while Neupane had six over 73. Nepal’s top pro Deepak Acharya moved up to fourth position after carding four over 71 for the total 144. The first day leader had a horrible day as he finished fifth among the pros with 12 over 79 today for the total 145. Surya Sharma leads the standing among the amateurs with the overall 142 with Shiva Ram Shrestha trailing him by four shots (146) after the second round. Surya Sharma carded three over 70 and Ram carded seven over 74.

Pashupati Sharma, whose even par on the first day put him one shot behind the leader Sachin Bhattarai, started the day with double-bogey but had an eagle on Hole Four and a bogey in the sixth. He birdied in the 10th, 11th and 13th before having another double-bogey in 17th. Sharma also had bogeys in the 15th and 18th. A total of 31 golfers — 16 professionals and 15 amateurs — are participating in the tournament.
