Sherpa wins Carlsberg Classic

Kathmandu, November 18:

Dawa Sherpa won the Carlsberg Classic Golf Tournament and earned an opportunity to represent Nepal in the Malaysian Open ProAm 2007 here at the RNGC today.

Sherpa, who had netted 37 points to take lead on count back on the first day of the event played at 7/8 handicap format, went on to win the championship. Gopal Chitrakar came second considering the last three holes in the back nine as he was tied with Om Pun, who finished third.

Chitrakar also earned the closest to the pin award, while Tashi Ghale birdied three holes to win the most birdies award.
