Kathmandu, February 13

Ssp Rajendra Shrestha won the gross club championship trophy here at Gokarna Golf Club today.

Ssp Shrestha accumulated 560 points out of 12 events for the gross title after the final edition of Surya Nepal Gokarna Monthly Medal. Shrestha’s nearest rival Prithivi Malla finished second with 410 points ahead of defending champion Gopal Chitrakar, who was third with 304 points.

Meanwhile, Bijay Bahadur Shrestha was declared nett champion of Gokarna Golf Club for 2015 after he accumulated 370 points ahead of Sonam Norbu Lama (336), while Kishan Agrawal (270) was third.

Likewise, Aditi Ghimire lifted the junior champion trophy with 540 points. Tenzing Sherpa finished second with 500 points ahead of third-placed Mayank Dahal, who accumulated 480 points.

The 12th edition of the Surya Nepal Gokarna Monthly Medal’s winner was Sonam Norbu Lama with the score of three-under 69 nett ahead of Shyam Simkhada, who scored two-under 70 nett and Babu Sherpa turned in a card of one-under 71 nett for the third place. Ang Tshiring Sherpa carded eight-over 80 gross to clinch the gross trophy and Tenzing Sherpa scored even-par 72 nett to bag the best junior trophy.

Out of the qualifiers, 29 players took part in the final edition of the tournament sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd. Marketing Manager of Surya Nepal Private Ltd Bal Kishan Gurung gave away the prizes to the winners. Ssp Shrestha and Bijay Bahadur Shrestha received proshop vouchers of Rs 22,000 each, while Ghimire got Rs 6,000.
