KATHMANDU: Deepak Shrestha won the above-65 veteran category title of the fourth Citizen Bank Open Tennis Tournament here on Wednesday. In the final played at the Dashrath Stadium courts, Shrestha defeated Gautam Lal Pradhan 8-2. In men’s singles section, Samrakchyan Bhusan Bajracharya and Kamal Bhandari advanced to the final. Bajracharya defeated Jitendra Pariyar 6-2, 6-1, while Bhandari registered a 6-2, 6-1 win over Renjan Lama. In above-55 veteran section, Manoj Rana, Dhurba Gurung, Prithvi Thakali and Chemba Dhundup advanced to the semi-finals. In above-35 category, Pratap Moktan, Shree Ram Magar, Sukuman Tamang and Mahesh Shrestha booked the last four berths.
