Shridiwa thrash Tripura

Karma Gurung top-scored with 37 points as Shridiwa thrashed Tripura 79-8 and entered the senior boys’ quarter-finals of the Moonsoon Meet 2005 Inter-school Basketball Tournament, which has been organised by Shridiwa International School, here today. In other matches, Sambotta beat Ideal English 64-30 riding on Tenzing’s 25 points; Lal Prasad and Surendra netted 13 points each as Young Hearts defeated LRI 41-34; and Gyan Niketan eliminated South Point 67-24 with Hikmat Jeet Kunwar netting 16 points for the winners, and made it to the last eight. In junior boys’ matches, Wilson beat Gyan Niketan 42-18 in which Ratna Rokka netted 15 points for Wilson; LRI thrashed South Point 34-16 riding on Nimesh’s 29 points; Abin, Abinash and Krishna scored 10 points each as RIBS defeated Daffodil 40-16; HIMS outplayed Holy Garden 29-4 with Mima Dana scoring 10 points for the winners; and hosts Shridiwa beat Sambotta 21-17 in which Amir Gurung scored seven points.
