Soca Warriors Lara’s inspiration

West Indies captain Brian Lara walked into the media room at the end of the second Test wearing a Soca Warriors (Trinidad and Tobago football team) T-shirt, just as he had done before the start of the match. And he straight away admitted that the Soca Warriors’ fighting 0-0 draw against Sweden in their World Cup opener had inspired his, and the West Indian performance. “The Soca Warriors fought it out for 90 minutes,” Lara said. “We needed to fight it out for 98 overs.” Lara is a big fan of the national football side and is friendly with several of the players, including captain Dwight Yorke
