LALITPUR: Sonam Elwangdi defeated Karuna Gauchan 9-6 to win the Under-10 girls' section title of the Junior Tennis Initiative (JTI) Tournament here on Saturday.

Ashish Malla beat Samrakshyan Bhusan Bajracharya 9-5 and Bipin Thapa defeayed Siddhartha Pandey 9-6 to enter the U-10 boys' section final.

In Under-9 girls' section semi-finals, Karuna defeated Mahika Rana 2-0 and Pratistha Shrestha earned walkover from Jaswini Bohara. Rikdev Singh and Jimi Gurung made it to the boys' section final. Rikdev beat Ashish Singh and Jimi defeated Jenish Bajracharya by the identical score of 2-0.

In Under-12 boys' semi-finals, Iwan Ho beat Abhish Shankar Timalsina 9-1 and Avaya Gauchan outplayed Sandesh Poudel 9-2.

In the Under-14 girls' section, Aslesha Lisanovic beat Robina Gurung 6-3, 6-2 and Mina Gharti Magar registered a 6-2, 6-2 win over Anushka Joshi to enter the final. Milan Roka defeated Diwas Shrestha 6-0, 6-1 and Iwan Ho beat Sahaj Raj Bhandari 6-1, 6-2 to advance to the Under-14 boys' section final.

Suman Thapa and Mina Gharti Magar made it to the Under-16 girls' section final. Suman came from behind to beat Anushka Joshi 0-6, 6-4, 6-1, while Mina defeated Salony Lama 7-5, 6-3. Gaurav Shah and Milan Roka advanced to the U-16 boys' section final. Gaurav beat Bramhanda Moktan 6-0, 6-1 and Minal defeated Diwakar Ojha 6-4, 6-4.
