SPA, Triton College register victories

Sudur Paschimanchal Academy (SPA) and Triton College registered victories in the Expert College Premier League Cricket Tournament at the TU Stadium here on Tuesday.
SPA thrashed Platinum College by 113 runs, while Triton routed Kathmandu College of Management (KCM) by 126 runs. Batting first, SPA made a mammoth 217-3 in 20 overs before they bowled out Platinum for 104 runs in 19.2 overs. Man-of-the-match Subash Khakurel scored 98 off just 61 balls that included 13 fours and three sixes, while Sandeep Sunar scored quick fire 56 off 37 balls that included seven fours and a six. Sushan Shrestha, Subash BC and Mohan Singh Bista took one wicket apiece for Platinum.
In reply, Platinum never looked comfortable against the tight bowling of SPA. Jagdish Karki top scored for Platinum with 30 off 20 deliveries that included three fours and two sixes, while Santosh Adhikari (18) and Sushan Shrestha (16) were other Platinum batsmen who reached double figures. Aman Panthi claimed three wickets, while Lalit Bhandari and Santosh Bhatta took two wickets each and Subash Khakurel took a wicket for SPA.
In another match, Triton made 211-3 in 20 overs before they restricted KCM for 85-8 in 20 overs. Triton innings revolved around Shankar Rana’s half century. Rana scored 91 off 60 balls with 14 fours. Manjeet Shrestha scored 60 off just 22 balls with four fours and six sixes. Amit Shrestha scored 33 off 30 balls and Antim Thapa made 12 off six balls. Prayash Mishra claimed two wickets for KCM, while Purnendu Ghosh took a wicket.
In reply, KCM lost wickets at regular intervals and faced humiliating defeat. Aditya Shrestha top scored for KCM with 29 off 26 balls, while Ashish Khadka made 19 off 22 balls. Ritesh Singh and MD Ahraz claimed two wickets each, while Rupesh Shrivastav, Lal Adhikari, Manjeet Shrestha and Mayank Yadhav took one each for Triton.
