Poudel becomes most expensive player at MCL

Sudeep Poudel became the most expensive player for the Machhapuchhre Cricket League T20 tournament slated for August 22 to September 22 at the MCC ground in Pokhara.

Poudel was sold to Lions Club of Pokhara Downtown for Rs 10,000 during the players’ auction organised by the Machhapuchhre Cricket Club. A total 145 cricketers had registered for the auction but only 84 players were picked up by the six participating clubs. This is the third cricket tournament to feature auction after Dhangadhi Premier League and Everest Premier League.

Downtown, which will be skippered by Raju Gurung, also bought Rupak Baral, Arun Adhikari, Manoj Koirala, Lal Bahadur Thapa, Parvin Pandey, Himal Gaha, Bipin Kaafle, Ishwor Pun, Diwash Lamichane, Ajay Gurung, Ganesh Pangeni, Lal Bahadur Gurung and Krishna Sen.

Similarly, Machhapuchhre Lions, which will be led by Deepesh Khatri, picked up Raju Khanal, Virat Duwadi, Nirmal Chettri, Aman Regmi, Bipin Ranjit, Manish Regmi, Amit Chhetri, Bishwash Gurung, Raj Kumar Kunwar, Ram Bahadur Shrestha, Abhishek Singh Thakuri, Sashi Dubey, Bishnu Prasad Sharma and Raj Kumar KC.

Prabin Dhakal, the captain of Informatics College Cheetahs, brought in Vinay Bhandari, Janam Godar, Sugam Gautam, Ashish Chettri, Bishwash Parajuli, Bhuwan Poudel, Santosh K Shrestha, Milan Thapa, Joy Sharma, Uttam Kafle, Samir Sen, Amit Neupane, Kiran Pun and Ishwar Thapa in the team.

Likewise, Parbat Titans — who have Raju Thapa as the skipper — bought Anish GC, Agendra Chhantyal, Sahil Karki, Deepen Raymajhi, Jit Bahadur Rana, Paras Lamichhane, Suraj Shrestha, Raju Tamang, Santwan Poudel, Ramesh Basnet, Abhishek Thapa, Binod Nepali, Aakash Nepali and Pujan Pandey.

VM Warriors Baglung, who will field Bijaya BK as the skipper, included Passing Pun, Sanjay Panta, Deepak Kunwar, Kishan Khadka, Pratik KC, Tejendra Gharti Magar, Kishor Chhantyal, Shijan Shahi, Anup Shrestha, Rabin Karki, Ram Krishna KC, Thinlay Lama, Sandesh Chhantyal and Shiva KC in the team.

KKAF Syangja Challengers team included Diwakar Thapa (skipper), Sangam Gautam, Manoj Gautam, Ashim Shrestha, Suraj Gurung, Ashok Shrestha, Bishwa Thapa, Asmit Subedi, Lil Bahadur Thapa Chhetri, Dol Gurung, Bibek Poudel, Om Gurung, Ram Bahadur Thapa, Bishal BK and Ishwor Shrestha in the squad.
