Sudurpaschim Royals defeated Karnali Yaks by six wickets in the final league stage match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) T20, held at the TU Cricket Ground, on Monday morning.
Chasing a modest target of 102 runs set by Karnali, Sudurpaschim reached the goal in 15.2 overs with four wickets in hand.
Captain Dipendra Singh Airee and Ishan Pandey starred with the bat, scoring 38 runs each, while Harmeet Singh shone in the bowling department, taking three wickets. Dipendra Singh Airee and Scott Kuggeleijn contributed with two wickets each, restricting Karnali to 101 runs in their 20 overs.
For Karnali, Zeeshan Maqsood top-scored with 30 runs off 35 balls, including four boundaries, while Sompal Kami, Chadwick Walton, and Babar Hayat added double-digit contributions.
Despite the loss, Karnali advanced to the playoffs, as Kathmandu Gurkhas failed to secure qualification.
The playoff equation is now complete, with Janakpur Bolts, Chitwan Rhinos, Sudurpaschim Royals, and Karnali Yaks making the cut.
In the playoffs, Sudurpaschim Royals will face Janakpur Bolts in the first qualifier, while Chitwan Rhinos will take on Karnali Yaks in the eliminator match.
