KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 21

Sudurpaschim Royals defeated Pokhara Avengers by 18 runs in a Nepal Premier League 2025 match held this evening.

After posting a total of 193 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs, Sudurpaschim successfully defended the score, restricting Pokhara to 175 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs.

For Pokhara, only captain Kushal Burtel (53 off 32 balls), James Neesham (47 off 25), and Dan Douthwaite (37 off 16) reached double figures, as wickets fell at regular intervals while attempting to chase a challenging total.

For Sudurpaschim, Harmeet Singh claimed 2 wickets, while each of the remaining six bowlers picked up one wicket apiece.

Earlier, after being put into bat in the day-night match at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Sudurpaschim posted a formidable 193 runs. Opener Josh Brown starred with a brilliant 68 runs off 35 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes, while his opening partner Binod Bhandari contributed a solid 43 off 42 balls. Chris Lynn and captain Dipendra Singh Airee added 31 and 15 runs, respectively, to the total.

For the bowling side, which opted to field first after winning the toss, New Zealander James Neesham took 3 wickets, while Aakash Chand and Dan Douthwaite claimed 2 wickets each.

This was the second match for both teams in the second season of the NPL. With this win, Sudurpaschim now has 4 points from two matches, maintaining a perfect record, while Pokhara remains winless after consecutive defeats.

On Saturday, two matches are scheduled. The first match, starting at 11:15 am, will see Karnali Yaks face Lumbini Lions, followed by a day-night encounter at 4:00 pm between Kathmandu Gorkhas and Biratnagar Kings.
