Pariyar, Tamang earn berths

Suman Pariyar and Ritesh Tamang won the title of the qualifying tournament for the CMS Faldo Series Nepal Championship, at the Nirvana Country Club Health and Golf Resort in Dharan on Saturday.

Pariyar carded three-over 73 to win the boys’ 17-21 age group tournament, while Dhiraj Limbu was a distant second with the score of 12-over 82. Tamang bagged the boys’ 12-16 age category tournament with the score of 82, whereas Samir BK came second with the score of 109. In the qualifying event held at the par-70 Himalayan Golf Course in Pokhara, Sudeep Tamang won the boys’ 17-21 age group title with the score of 16-over 86, while Suresh Tamang came second at 29-over 99. Also, Sujan BK won the boys’ 12-16 age category title with the score of 99 and Sanjay Pariyar was second at 99.

A total of 18 players took part in the event in Pokhara, while 20 players participated in Dharan. Top two players in both age categories have earned berths in the CMS Faldo Series Nepal Championship. The tournaments were organised by Nepal Golf Association in co-ordination with Kaski District Golf Association and Sunsari District Golf Association.

The CMS Faldo Series Nepal Championship is scheduled for December 11-13 at the Gokarna Golf Club. The winners of each category will earn tickets to Vietnam to participate in the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final slated for March next year.
