PHIDIM: Sunsari defeated Divine Boys Union by 3-0 in the inaugural game of the IX Ruslan Falgunanda Gold Cup in Phidim of Panchathar district, on Friday.

Tirtha Basnet scored the brace on the 3rd and 36th minutes, played at the Phidim Higher Secondary School.

Sujan Yakhan notched the third goal on the 65th minute to ensure victory in a opening match of the tournament.

Striker Basnet was awarded man of the match trophy for his match winning performance.

Tomorrow, Birtha Youth XI will take on Taplejung XI, according to the organiser Phidim Sporting Club.

10 teams are participating in the tournament and the winner will bag Rs 3,00,000 and runner-up will take away Rs 2,00,000.
