KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 17
Nepal are seeking a consolation victory in their final group-stage fixture of the ongoing T20 World Cup at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Earlier in the tournament, Nepal narrowly lost to England by four runs before suffering heavy defeats to debutants Italy and the mighty West Indies. Having already been eliminated from the group stage, Nepal are yet to register a victory in this edition of the T20 World Cup.
Nepal won the toss and opted to field first in the dead-rubber contest, as both teams had already been knocked out of the tournament. Scotland posted 170/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Michael Jones top-scored for Scotland with a fluent 71 off just 45 deliveries, striking eight fours and three sixes.
Sompal Kami was the pick of the Nepal bowlers, returning impressive figures of 4-0-25-3. Nandan Yadav claimed two wickets, while Rohit Paudel and Kushal Bhurtel chipped in with one wicket apiece.
With this appearance, Nepal have now participated in the global showpiece in 2014, 2024, and 2026.
