KATHMANDU, JUNE 14

Nepal is taking on Test-playing nation South Africa on Saturday under Group 'D' as part of the ICC T20 World Cup cricket tournament underway in the US and West Indies.

The match will start at 5:15 AM Nepali time at Arnos Vale Stadium in Saint Vincent of the West Indies.

Nepal is facing South Africa for the first time in a T20 match. However, Nepal has competed against South Africa in the U19 World Cup and emerged victorious.

Nepal must win the match against South Africa to advance to the second round of the World Cup. South Africa has already entered the Super Eight from Group 'D' in the T20 World Cup, having registered wins in all three of their earlier matches. South Africa reached the Super Eight by defeating Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands.

Nepal, which has played two matches earlier, has suffered a loss in one and shared a point in another. Nepal lost to the Netherlands in its first match and shared a point with Sri Lanka when the match was canceled due to rain.

The captain of the Nepali national team, Rohit Kumar Poudel, expressed confidence that his team would perform better in the match against South Africa. He said all players would play in an organized and united manner to secure a win against the robust South African team.

In Group 'D', South Africa is in the top position with six points, while Bangladesh is in second place with four points.

The Netherlands is third with two points, and Nepal is fourth with one point. Sri Lanka is at the bottom of the scoreboard with one point
