TAC, Sankata enter final

Defending champions Tribhuvan Army Club and CMG Club Sankata advanced to the final of the Lalit Memorial U-18 Football Championship here today.
In the day’s semi-final matches, 10-man TAC thrashed their departmental rivals Nepal Police Club 4-0, while Sankata edged past Friends Club 4-2 on penalties. The final is slated for Monday.
Dinesh Yonjan scored a hat-trick and Prizen Tamang added one in TAC’s impressive win over NPC. Yonjan opened the scoring for TAC in the 15th minute and doubled the tally in the 44th minute. Yonjan completed the hat-trick in the 72nd minute before Roman Limbu was expelled two minutes later. Despite being a man down, TAC extended the lead in the 88th minute when Tamang found the back of the nets.
Similarly, Sankata made it to the final on spot kick battle against Friends Club after the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Sankata’s Ranjit Gurung found back of the nets in 42nd minute and Sumit Chohan Magar levelled the tally in the 47th minute. Nabin Gurung, Dipesh Ale Magar, Devraj Tamang and Ranjit Gurung converted their shots for Sankata, while only Nishan Thapa Magar and Kikshit Thapa scored from the spot for Friends as Rumesh Bartaula and Aashish KC missed their chance.
