Team off to KL

KATHMANDU: A nine-member taekwondo team, including seven players, on Wednesday left for Kuala Lumpur to compete in the Malaysian Open Taekwondo Championship slated for March 1-4.

Manoj Malla (54kg), Rajanan Shrestha (68kg), Ujjwal Guragain (80kg), Bhupen Shrestha (87kg) and Umeshraj Bhandari (63kg) will take part in men’s section, while Kalpana Chaudhary (46kg) and Ashmita Khadka (49kg) will compete in women’s poomsae events. Coach Bishal Rayamajhi and referee Nabin Kumar Shrestha also accompanied the players to Malaysia.

Nepal Taekwondo Association President Prakash Shumsher Rana, Members Sangina Baidya, Norbu Lama and Badri Prasad Ghimire bade farewell to the team.
