KATHMANDU: A 10-member Nepali athletics team is on Sunday leaving for Bhutan to compete in the South Asian Cross Country Championship slated for March 27 in Thimpu.

Gajendra Rai, Kalyan Baniya, Tikaram Katwal, Ramji Basnet, Bishwo Rupa Buda, Reshu Basnet, Sanumaya Karki and Bindra Shrestha will take part in the event.

Coaches Amiri Prasad Yadav and Chandra Bahadur Gurung will also accompany the players to Thimpu.

National Sports Council Vice-president and General Secretary of Nepal Olympic Committee Lama Tendi Sherpa bade farewell to the team on Saturday. — HNS
