Thai Airways Golf Tournament on Saturday

Kathmandu, December 6

Thai Airways is organising the Thai Airways Golf Tournament here at the par-68 Royal Nepal Golf Club on Saturday.

Around 70 golfers are expected to take part in the tournament being organised to mark Thai Airway’s 50 years of its flight service to Nepal. The tournament features eight categories — 0-9 handicap and 10-18 handicap in men’s section, women, senior women, senior, super senior, junior and guests, informed Peera Pong Jutaganoon, General Manager of Thai Airways for Nepal and Bhutan, at a press meet today.

The champions in men’s categories and the Hole-in-One winner will receive return ticket each to Bangkok from Thai Airways, while other winners will get

trophies and gift hampers from Tiger Land Jungle Resort, Barahi Jungle Resort, Pavillions Himalayas Pokhara and Gokarna Forest Resort.

“We are resuming the tournament to mark the golden jubilee of Thai Airways service in Nepal and we have planned to make it an annual event,” said Jutaganoon. Jawalakhel Group of Industries, Hotel Royal Singi, Pepsi and Sherpa Beer are the other sponsors of the tournament.

RNGC Tournament Committee Chairman Kishan Agrawal thanked Thai Airways for resuming with the event. “This is will help in the development of the sport and we hope that it will be a regular tournament at the RNGC from now on,” said Agrawal.

RNGC Captain NK Rai welcomed Thai Airways into the golfing circuit. “I still remember playing in the Thai Airways tournament back in 1970s and we believe this tournament will create a buzz in golfing fraternity,” said Rai.
