KATHMANDU: Banke District Volleyball Association on Monday nominated actress Rekha Thapa as the Goodwill Ambassador for the Prime Minister Cup third Indo-Nepal Women’s Volleyball Tournament. President of Nepal Olympic Committee Jeevan Ram Shrestha and Member Secretary of National Sports Council Keshab Kumar Bista handed over the letter of appointment to the actress amidst a press meet. Thapa said she would try her best to help in the development of women’s volleyball. NOC President Shrestha said the involvement of the actress in the event would bring glamour to the sports. President of Banke Volleyball Association and tournament convenor said they were planning to organise the event in a different manner. A total of eight teams, including two from India, will take part in the tournament.
