Kathmandu, August 17:

Milan Vidya Mandir Secondary Boarding School is organising the third Milan Inter-school Girls Basketball Tournament from August 19 to September 2 on the occasion of 78th birthday of Queen Mother Ratna and 41st Children’s Day.

In all, 25 school of the valley are taking part in the tournament, said the organisers at a press meet today. Principal of the school Juddha Bahadur Pun and the tournament coordinator Gopal Budhathoki were present on the occasion.

The participating teams are divided into four groups. Two-time defending champion Gyanodaya, Holy Garden, Prithvi, New Summit, Occidental and Rato Bangala are in Group A, while Gyan Niketan, Pacific, Baba, Teresa Academy, Young Hearts and South Point are in Group B.

Group C consists of Triyog, New Buddha, GEMS, Wilson, Unique, and TIA, whereas Pennwood, Milan, LRI, Valley Public, Reliance, Little Angels’ and Ideal Model are in Group D.

After the 66-match round-robin league, the top two teams from all the four groups will qualify for the quarter-finals, slated for August 31. The semi-finals will be held on September 1, and the grand finale is scheduled for September 2.
