Ruslan Three Star Club defeated Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club 1-0 in the final of the fourth Mai Valley Gold Cup here at the Thulo Tundikhel grounds today.

Sunil Bal scored the solitary goal of the match in fourth minute of the extra time. the match went to extra time after both the teams failed to score in regulation period. Three Star, eho had claimed five titles last seasons, won their first title of the year.

The win is the Three Star's sixth straight over MMC that included three each in semi-finals and finals. Three Star haddefeated MMC in the final of the Madan Bhandari Gold Cup finals in Itahri and Butwal. Tribhuvan Army Club was the most successful outfit in domestic tournaments with seven titles, while MMC and Nepal Police Club had won two each.

Along with the trophy, Three Star received Rs 666,666, while MMC earned Rs 400,000. MMC skipper Biraj Maharjan  was adjudged the player of the tournament and he was awarded with a scooter. A total of 12 teams took part in the tournament organised by Mai Valley Football Club.
