Three Star into final
KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Ruslan Three Star Club beat Sikkim United Club 4-1 to enter the final of the 64th Bharat Ratna Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Trophy Football Tournament at the Nehru Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday.
Martins put Three Star ahead in the 67th minute but Sikkim’s Sonam Tchiring levelled the scores a minute later. The match went to extra time after both the teams were tied at 1-1 in the regulation period of 90 minutes. However, Three Star scored three goals in the 30 minutes of extra-time. Martins regained the lead in the 95th minute, while Bijay Dhimal extended the lead in the 101st minute before Bijay Gurung added the fourth goal of the team in the 105th minute.
Three Star will play the final on Friday against the winners of the another semi-final match between East Bengal and Shillong Lajong. The second semi-final is slated for Thursday.
