Three Star Club clinch Budha Subba Gold Cup

Three Star Club beat Jawalakhel Youth Club 3-0 in the final of the seventh Budha Subba Tuborg Gold Cup Football Tournament here at at Dharan Stadium today.
Three Star Club, which dominated the field from the beginning, took an early lead through Pradeep Maharjan, whi found the net converting a free kick. JYC were unlucky five minutes later, when referee ruled out a goal scored by Birat Thapa.
In the 65th minute, Santosh Sahukhala doubled the tally capitalising on a chance when Jawalakhel goalkeeper Bikash Malla had come out to clear the ball. Three Star Club’s veteran Bal Gopal Maharjan put his club beyond the reach of JYC with a goal in the 75th minute.
Both the Jawalakhel Youth Club and Three Star Club have reached the final in their first participation. JYC pulled the biggest upset on Friday when they knocked out defending champions Mahendra Police Club, while Three Star entered the final beating Manang Marsyangdi Club. The winners walked away with Rs 70,000, while the runners-up eceived Rs 35,000.
