DHANGADHI: Three Star Club defeated fellow A division outfit Friends Club 1-0 and advanced to the semi-finals of the Sudurpashchim Chief Minister Khaptad Gold Cup here at the Dhangadhi Stadium on Sunday.
Player-of-the-match Dipesh Gurung scored the solitary goal of the match. After a goalless draw in the first half, Gurung found the back of the nets in rebound after Ajayi Martins' shot was blocked.
Three Star will face the winners of the match between hosts Sudurpashchim-XI and Nepal Police Club for a place in the final.
On Monday, defending champions Manang Marshyangdi Club will take on Bagmati Youth Club of Sarlahi.
