Three Star thrash Barindhara FC to enter Aaha Rara Gold Cup final

POKHARA: Ruslan Three Star Club has secured its berth in the title clash of the 16th Aaha Rara Gold Cup Football Tournament registering a comfortable 5-0 win over Uttar Barindhara FC of Bangladesh, on Wednesday.

Bishwas Shrestha produced a hat-trick while Bishnu Gurung and Nirajan Khadka scored one goal each for Three Star in the tournament's first semifinal match at Pokhara Stadium.

Three Star will now face the winner between Nepal Police Club and Dharan FC in the summit clash on Saturday.

Three Star had to wait until 41st minute to break the Bangladeshi team's defensive line. Bishnu Gurung scored match's opener utilizing the pass from Buddha Chemjong. Four minutes later, Nirajan Khadka doubled the tally and hat-trick hero Bishwas Shrestha made 3-0 in the stoppage time of the first half.

Shrestha added two more goals in the second half, as forward beat Barindhara's defense in 67th and 75th minutes respectively.

After facing defeat at the hands of four time champions of the tournament, visiting side' Vice-president Musibur Rehaman said that his two key players who were unavailable for the match due to red card, were missed.

Likewise, Three Star coach Megh Raj KC said that the opponent was very weak.
