TIA beat Unique
KATHMANDU: Santosh netted 25 points to steer Trungram International Academy (TIA) to a 71-54 win over Unique Academy in the Daffodil Cup Senior Basketball Tournament today.
In another boys' match, Himalaya International Model School (HIMS) edged past Excelsior 52-47 riding on 11 points from Loden. In the girls' section, Pennwood saw off Galaxy Public School 18-7 with Aastha contributing seven points for the winners while hosts Daffodil overcame Mahendra Bhawan 18-13. Yangzin chipped in eight points for the hosts while Ruchika top scored with 10 points for Mahendra Bhawan. Likewise, Galaxy and Daffodil won other fixtures after their opponents Bagmati School and Wilson Academy respectively failed to report.
In junior football, Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) School drubbed Mt Glory 8-0. Rabin Karki and Binaya Sapkota struck a hat-trick each while Sudip Lama and Saugat Kunwar added one goal each for the APF School. In another match, Sujib Maharjan, Anish Thapa and Sujan Gautam scored a goal each as Rhododendron International Boarding School (RIBS) sneaked past Reliance Academy 3-2. Sushant Rijal and Kisan Rai replied for Reliance. Learning Realm International (LRI) dispatched Lincoln School 4-2. Sudip Pokhrel scored a brace and Sandesh Khadka and Sulastik Adhikari added one apiece for LRI. Pujen Shrestha replied for Lincoln with both the goals. Also, St Xavier received a walkover win from TIA in another match.
