Pulchowk clinch title

LALITPUR: Pulchowk Engineering College beat Kathmandu Engineering College (KEC) 48-44 to win the first Himalaya Technical Basketball Tournament on Wednesday. The championship match was extended for five minutes after the scores were tied 41-41 in normal time. Pulchowk added seven while restricting KEC to just three points to claim the trophy. Pulchowk captain, who scored 30 points, was adjudged the most valuable player of the tournament. Meanwhile, Kantipur Engineering College beat Acme Engineering College 47-28 to win the third-place decider. In all, 10 teams took part in the tournament. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Tri Chandra Campus defeated Tribhuvan University 25-20, 25-21 in the third Valleywide Inter-college Professors Volleyball Tournament here on Wednesday. In other scheduled match of the day, hosts Padma Kanya Campus 'Blue' got walkover win from Bhaktapur Campus. — HNS
