Symonds banned

BRISTOL: Australia all-rounder Andrew Symonds was given a two-game ban on Sunday for staying out late before the world champions’ five-wicket defeat against Bangladesh on Saturday. Moody confident

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka’s new Australian coach Tom Moody said he hoped to bring success to the former world champions as he started his two-year stint. “I am thrilled to be here and pretty much looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead,” said Moody. “I would like to get familiar with the players around, not only those with the Test side but also those in the A side and others,” he said. “There are some world-class cricketers in Sri Lanka, and hopefully we can continue to produce more such players in future,” added Moody. — AFP
