The former top-ranked Henin stretched her winning streak to 16 matches and her record to 19-1 since her return in March from a virus and broken knee that sidelined her for seven months. ROME: Spanish teenager Rafael Nadal advanced to his third straight final with a 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 victory over countryman David Ferrer at the Rome Masters. Playing in Rome for the first time, Nadal extended his winning streak to 16 matches following his titles in Monte Carlo and Barcelona. In a rematch of the Monte Carlo final, Nadal will meet French Open runner-up Guillermo Coria, who beat Andre Agassi 7-5, 7-6 and improved to 13-2 on clay. — AP
Kimi wins Spanish GP
BARCELONA: Kimi Raikkonen of McLaren-Mercedes won the Spanish Grand Prix from the pole, claiming his third career F1 victory. Spain’s Fernando Alonso in a Renault, finished second, 27.6 seconds behind Kimi, with third for Jarno Trulli of Toyota. Ralf Schumacher of Toyota was 4th ahead of Renault’s Giancarlo Fisichella and Williams-BMW’s Mark Webber. India’s Narain Karthikeyan came 13th for Jordan-Toyota (1:28.26.975). — AP
