SEB beat Deep Jyoti

KATHMANDU: The boy’s team of Samakhushi English Boarding (SEB) School ‘C’ laboured to a 25-22, 24-26, 26-24 win over Deep Jyoti ‘B’ in the fourth SEB Inter-school Running Shield Volleyball Tournament on Wednesday. In other boys’ matches, Saptagandaki rallied for a 16-25, 25-12, 25-22 win over SEB ‘A’; Deep Jyoti ‘A’ overcame Future ‘A’ 25-21, 25-12; and Newton beat Bright Future ‘B’ 25-15, 25-10. In the girls’ section, New Diamond defeated Deep Jyoti 25-20, 25-2 and Saptagandaki saw off Bright Future 25-8, 25-8. — HNS

Joy House triumph

LALITPUR: Joy House won the team championship at the first Valleywide Invitational Taekwondo Tournament on Wednesday. Joy House claimed three gold, two silver and two bronze medals. National Taekwondo Training Centre (NTTC) finished second with three gold, one silver and five bronze while Sallaghari Dojang ended up third with two gold, two silver and one bronze medal. Ashish Maharjan was declared the best player in men’s section while Dilita Thapa the best in the women’s section. — HNS

MEGHAULI: Chitwan National Park made it to the semi-finals after winning their third consecutive match here at the International Elephant Polo Championship on Wednesday. The National Park defeated Scotland’s Chivas Regal 14-8 today. Also making it to the last four were Tiger Tops, New York Blues and Air Tushkars. Tiger Tops beat Indian Tigers 10-5, New York Blues edged British Gurkhas 4-1 and Air Tuskars dispatched Pukka Chukkas 7-1. — HNS
