KATHMANDU: Madhyapur Youth Association hammered Birbhadra Youth Club (BYC) 10-0 in the C Division League qualifying match here on Monday. Raju Sinkeman and Rahul Manandhar scored a hat-trick each for Madhyapur. Nirmal Shrestha also joined the goal feast with two goals while Binod Bista and Amul Thapa added one goal apiece. Likewise, Dinesh Karki scored a hat-trick and Sajan Shrestha converted one goal as Budhanilkantha Youth Club defeated Mahakali Youth Club 4-0. — HNS
Match washed out
KATHMANDU: The quarter-final match of the third CCRC Twenty20 Inter-college Cricket Tournament between Capital College and Research Centre (CCRC) ‘A’ and Pulchowk Engineering Campus was washed out due to heavy downpour on Monday. Batting first, Pulchowk were in deep trouble at 28-5 in 10.2 overs when rain intervene to rescue them.— HNS
Sunita returns
KATHMANDU: Sunita Magar, who recently won bronze medal at the Asian Judo Championship in Yemen, returned home on Monday. Magar had secured the women’s 57kg bronze medal after defeating Palestenian and Yemen players. India had won the gold and Kazakhstan the silver medal at the tournament participated in by seven countries. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Sagarmatha Gyanpunja School of Banke and Social Secondary School of Pokhara won Monday’s Inter-Secondary School Football Tournament. Sagarmatha defeated Surya Deep School of Bhaktapur 5-2 and Social crushed Kavre School 8-0.
