Nepal win seven gold medals

KATHMANDU: The Nepal International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) team won seven gold and two bronze medals at the Open Invitational Championship held in Banaras, India from June 7-9. According to Nepal ITF, the Nepali team finished second in Team Sparring. Tulasa Thapa Magar, Arati Raut, Ishwar Khanal, Sunil Basnet, Manoj Khadka, Ayush Shrestha and KI Singh Ghale won gold medals, while Manoj Ghale and Ram Shrestha bagged bronze medals. — HNS

CCRC T20

KATHMANDU: Capital College and Research Centre (CCRC) is organising the third CCRC Twenty20 Inter-college Cricket Tournament from June 21. The winners will receive Rs 50,000 and the runners up will get Rs 25,000. The Man of the Series will be awarded with Rs 10,000, while the best batsman and bowler will get Rs 5,000 each. Rs 500 has been allotted to the man of the match in every game, while the man of the match in the finale will get Rs 1,000. The batsman with highest number of sixes will receive Rs 2,000. Meanwhile, the college also honoured national team alrounder Mehboob Alam, who created histrory by taking all the 10 wickets against Mozambique in the ICC World Cricket League Division-V Tournament in Jersey. — HNS
