NGFR Golf C’ship

KATHMANDU: Rotary International — District 3290-Nepal is organising the third NGFR Golf Championship at the Gokarna Forest Golf Course on Saturday. About 100 golfers will take part in the event played under stableford 3/4 handicap format, said president of Nepal Golf Association Prad-eep Kumar Shrestha at a press meet on Monday. The star attraction of the event is a Rado watch for a hole-in-one at the 10th Hole, sponsored by Sulux Centre. Professional golfer Deepak Acharya, rotarians Tika Man Vaidhya and Ratna Man Shakya were also present on the occasion. — HNS

Galaxy in final

BHAKTAPUR: Galaxy Public School entered the final of the COAS Cup Inter-school Cricket with a 27-run win over Birendra Sainik School. Batting first, Galaxy were all out for 102 in 23.1 overs before restricting the Army School to 75 in 31 overs. Baibav Joshi top-scored with 31 runs for Galaxy while Ujjwol Thapa completed a five-wicket haul for Birendra Sainik. Man of the match Ajit Maden claimed 5-16 for Galaxy. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Advanced Academy beat hosts Antique Bhadgaun Boarding School ‘B’ (ABBS) 5-4 while team ‘A’ of the host school drew 2-2 against Xavier International School on the opening day matches of the second ABBS Five-a-side Inter-school Football. In all six teams are taking part in the tournament. — HNS
