Joshi new NCA prez
KATHMANDU: The second general assembly of the Nepal Chess Association (NCA) elected a 12-member central executive committee on Monday. Rajesh Hari Joshi was elected as the president. Joshi received 34 votes against the 31 of Arun Kumar Shrestha of Jhapa. Nabin Tandukar and Prakash Sijapati were elected as the vice-presidents while Raghuvar Chau Pradhan was voted as the general secretary, Bidur Gautam the joint secretary and Krishna Pradhan the treasurer. Among the members were Madhav Prasad Pradhan, Jung Dewan, Gyanendra Khwaija, Ram Surat Prasad Shah, Dhana Laxmi Duwal and Binita Shrestha. The president has the rights to nominate three vice-presidents and four other members while two the National Sports Council reserves the right to nominate two members in the NCA committee. —HNS
