EoI lift trophy

Kathmandu: Embassy of India (EoI) defeated Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) by 17 runs to win the ninth Soaltee Crowne Plaza Super Sixes cricket tournament here at the TU Stadium today. Batting first, the EoI made 65-4 with man of the match Arvind Bhatta scoring 13-ball 28. In reply, SCB scored 48-0. Avinash Chhetri and Shekhar Karki scored 23 runs each for SCB. Chhetri was named the man of the series, Rohit Singh of Kumari Bank the best batsman and Mohan Khatri of Spice Nepal the best bowler. — HNS

Padam wins race

KATHMANDU: Padam Limbu won the second Mountain Bike Championship organised by the Nepal Mountain Bike and Tours Pvt Ltd. Limbu clocked 58 minutes and nine seconds to win the 20km men’s open race ahead of Suren Rai (58.29). Nirjala Tamrakar won the women’s event in 1:14.21 while Khagendra Gurung (1:03.50) won the master’s race. — HNS
