Kathmandu: APCA Nepal lost its third straight Group C match against Kantipur Group at the Soaltee Crowne Plaza Super Sixes cricket tournament at the TU Stadium. Batting first, APCA scored 47-3 with Kritartha Shakya scoring unbeaten 26 off 16 balls. Kantipur chased the total in 3.2 overs without loss. APCA will play its last match against Spice Nepal on Friday. In other matches, Nepal Investment Bank defeated Nepal Industrial and Commercial Bank (NIC) by 12 runs while Kumar Bank beat NIBL by five wickets. Indian Embassy got walkover from Prisma Advertising. Siddhartha Bank overcame hosts Soaltee by three wickets and Spice Nepal defeated DHL by four wickets. Also winning were Citizen Bank, Shikhar Insurance, Soaltee, Himalayan Bank and DHL. — HNS

District FAs seek NSC dissolution

KATHMANDU: Eight district Football Associations (FA) sought dissolution of the National Sports Council (NSC). Blaming the NSC for creating uncertainty in Nepali football, the representatives of Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Dhankuta, Rautahat, Sindhupalchowk, Sarlahi and Nuwakot FAs put forth their demand. “It’s time to change the whole structure of the NSC the base of which was laid during the Panchayat rule,” said Sunsari FA’s Kishor Rai. They also demanded the NSC to withdraw its ultimatum to ANFA or else they would organise a nationwide protests. The NSC had directed the ANFA to hold its re-election by mid-January. — HNS

Rajesh Shahi, Rakesh Shrestha, Rajendra Tamang, Vishan Gauchan, Lok Bandhu Gurung, Anjan KC, Pradip Maharjan, Prasant Giri, Santosh Sahukhala, Ju Manu Rai, Sanjeev Shrestha, Sandip Rai, Uttam Gurung, Bishnu Gurung, Nirajan Khadka and Manish Timilsina are the players of the team that also include Jaya Krishna Shrestha (coach) and Krishna Bahadur Shrestha (manager). — HNS
