India take 16-10 lead
KATHMAND: The Indian team took a 16-10 lead over Nepali team at the Friendship Cup Golf Tournament here at the Gokarna Forest Golf Resort and Spa on Saturday. On the first day of the two-day event played under match play format, the Indian team won eight matches, while Nepal clinched five. The second day will also feature 11 games and the top-scoring team will be declared the champions. Meanwhile, India’s 1983 World Cup winning cricket captain Kapil Dev pulled out of the tournament after he could not come to Kathmandu due to ill health. — HNS
