Medallists honoured

KATHMANDU: Nepal International Taekwondo Federation (NITF) on Friday felicitated coach Prabin Kumar Karki and two players Anju Raut and Krishna Gopal Rajthala, who won bronze medals at the English Open Championship in England on September 29. NITF president Krishna Bahadur Balal presented Rs 5,000 each to the players and coach. — HNS

Inzamam to retire

KARACHI: Inzamam-ul-Haq announced on Friday he will retire from Test cricket after playing the second Test against South Africa next week. “It was a difficult decision to make, but the youngsters are playing good and I have decided it’s better to leave,” Inzamam told reporters. “I don’t want the youngsters to be under pressure with my presence in the dressing room.” Inzamam, 37, retired from one-day internationals after the World Cup in the West Indies. — AP
