KATHMANDU: The 22nd Men’s and first Women’s National Boxing Tournament is scheduled to begin at the Pokhara Stadium from Thursday. In all, 145 men and 44 women boxers from 28 districts and three departmental teams — Nepali Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force — will vie for the 19 championship titles. The tournament features 10 weight categories for men and nine for women. — HNS

Karate tourney

KATHMANDU: Goldhunga Dojo is organising the fourth Valleywide Karate and Kickboxing Tournament from Friday. In all, 222 men and 133 women karatekas will take part in the two-day event. The men’s section includes 10 categories in karate, five in kickboxing and an individual kata while the women’s section comprises of eight categories in karate, three in kickboxing and an individual kata. — HNS
