KATHMANDU: Bijay Bikram Shah scored a brace as Chandeswori Yuva Club advanced to the Group C final in the ‘C’ Division Selection Football Tournament after a 2-1 win over Naya Nagar Yuva Club. In Group D, Kamalpokhari Sports Club crushed Mahima Glory Youth Club 6-2. Bikram Limbu struck a hat-trick while Bishal Tamang scored a brace and Nikki Bogati added one for Kamalpokhari. Sunil Baniya converted for Mahima Glory. — HNS

Course concludes

KATHMANDU: The first Trainers’ Basic Graduation Course, organised by Nepal Taekwondo Association, concluded here on Saturday. In all, 101 coaches took part in the week-long course targeted to upgrade the standard of the taekwondo coaches. National Sports Council vice-president Sitaram Maskey gave away certifictes to the participants. — HNS

Gyanu Baba win

POKHARA: Gyanu Baba School beat Chhore Patan School 25-15, 25-16, 25-18 in the women’s section final at the Volleyball Festival organised by Barahi Club. Fishtail Academy won the veteran’s section title. The men’s section final between Kalika Battalion of APF and District Police Office was postponed due to a scuffle between the players. More than three dozen police and spectators were injured during the fight. — HNS
